NorSea Group has today been awarded a comprehensive and long-term base contract to support Statoil's activities on the Norwegian shelf. The contract has an estimated value of between 4 and 5 billions and a duration of up to 10 years. The work be executed by the partly-owned company Coast Center Base and NorSea Group's other subsidiaries.

This is a historic contract for NorSea Group AS in terms of its scope, duration and financial benefits.

"Today we are very pleased and proud", says Norsea Group CEO John E. Stangeland. "We view this contract award as a statement of the confidence shown in us by Statoil, and a confirmation that we have an attractive and competitive business model based on local skills and expertise and wealth creation", he says.

NorSea Group has been awarded the contract for the following locations; Dusavik in Rogaland, Ågotnes and Mongstad in Hordaland, Florø in Sogn og Fjordane, Kristiansund in Møre og Romsdal and Hammerfest in Finnmark. The contract will be implemented by NorSea Group's subsidiaries NorSea AS (Dusavik), Vestbase AS (Florø and Kristiansund) and Polarbase AS (Hammerfest). Coast Center Base AS will implement the contract at Ågotnes and Mongstad.

"At locations where NorSea Group is not established, we intend to enter into a dialogue with local companies in order to find solutions that are benefitial to all parties", says Stangeland.

Long-term duration provides opportunities for further development

The scope of the contract with Statoil includes the provision of a broad range of logistics services, including terminal services (with the exception of Florø), warehousing and storage services, as well as the storage and handling of tubulars. The duration of the contract is six years, with two 2-year options.

It provides opportunities for a significant standardisation and rationalisation of the base and logistics concept, and an expansion of NorSea Group's range of services involving all its base locations along the Norwegian coast. The Group also sees a significant potential to generate synergies and collaborative benefits by means of more expansive interaction between the different base locations.

"NorSea Group celebrates its 50th anniversary this year", says Stangeland. "Right from the start we have employed a strategy based on building robust local bases in the locations where we establish our activities. I am very pleased. The scope of this contract and its long duration will help to guarantee future operations and, not least, provide an opportunity for us to further develop the local bases and business clusters", he says.

The contract comes into force on July 1 2015.
